Nah Then

It appears that I am not alone. Its looking likely that the castle/Sheaf park will not be ready by December and the chimera of a 'discovery centre' remains just that. I realise that we are 'not digging up Camelot' but what exactly is happening? We hear of important archaelogical discoveries and the BBC shows us C18 and C19th bottles.

Are the escalating costs the fault of unexpected archaeology or the dilatoriness of the Council in not moving fast enough ie not apparently involving Historic England or giving mere lip service to the views of concerned groups? Council officers are taken by surprise by the interest of the Sheffield public in the archaeology-where have they been? Who is running the show? Above all why the dearth of detailed publicity and proposals?

Its the People's Castle after all.
